We are super excited about this next step! We are in the process of running the “What is Church?” Course for a third time! The first two took place simultaneously, one in Europe and one in the United States! After completion, and with further interest from friends around the United States, we decided to open our home and do an “in person” course, while doing it online as well! This week will be our last week, and we can already see how we have all grown (including ourselves) in our revelation of God’s heart for church!

We just keep being amazed at the quality of people that God brings who are on a journey of discovery, and how God is using this course to help them process and make steps into discipleship and what God has for them next in life and ministry! He just keeps bringing people along our path!

We still have people who could not connect to do the course with their schedule, but interested—so we are super excited that the course in now available to do online at people’s own pace!!!! We also have a website of resources to help people along in the journey and assist people in the journey of “application” afterwards—check out our resource website: www.grassrootskeepingitsimple.com.

Below are the links for the notes and videos of the “What is Church?” Course to help you get started:

This powerful new move of God is spreading like wildfire, and there is an incredible need for laborers! In our existing churches, many do not have the capacity for the harvest coming in. The harvest needs to be disciples. We feel there is an incredible need in this hour for Jesus-centered, discipleship communities that are easily started and simplistic in their approach to multiplication.

Our primary investment is in helping prepare disciple makers, through training, mentoring, and by supporting a new wave of church planters that may not fit the stereotypical model of church leader— house and micro churches. We believe these churches fit very well into the spiritual and relational context of our culture that people are longing for, particularly Gen Z and the up-and-coming Gen Alpha!

In response to the urgency of the hour, we are launching several initiatives! Those include a new training course, 14,000 Feet Pastoral Fellowship, and Grassroots Network as a house church & micro church launch pad, and for ongoing support! Yes! We are in the early stages. A lot of what we are doing currently is connecting with like-hearted people by providing training opportunities, counsel, and then being a support to those who feel it in their hearts to step out and plant a house or micro church. It’s Simple Church. It’s not overly complicated or overwhelming. It’s taking the simple early church as our example. Here’s the thing, though—- Our hearts desire to commit ourselves to this mission FREE of charge! And for this, we need your help.

The simple early church model isn’t working off big budgets, especially in the development stages. While leaders will likely work bi-vocational, there is a tremendous need for an infrastructure to help develop, encourage, and support this new wave of simple church planters and churches.

We can see down the road that this kind of ministry will spin off in other directions, such as ministering to leaders already in the field who are worn out and weary. Also, discipleship courses, and perhaps schools, but for now, we want to focus on this aspect of the ministry for Grassroots International Ministries.

We have recently concluded two online 5-week courses titled "What Is Church?"—one in Europe and the other in the United States. A couple in Dublin, Ireland, found that the timing of this course confirmed their decision, and they felt encouraged by it. They launched a house church alongside their long-standing street ministry the Sunday after the course ended! Others felt inspired to open their homes for hospitality and the breaking of bread, as described in Acts 2:42-47, which was a key passage in the course. Some are motivated to begin one-on-one discipleship. We are thrilled about what God is doing!

Next week, we plan to host another course in the comfort of our living room here in Colorado, while also providing a LIVE online feed. We already have several individuals interested in both attending in person and streaming! Additionally, we recently completed the development of a website to support people at all stages of discipleship, from being a new believer to having resources to disciple others, and even assisting people in starting house and micro churches! We are thrilled about what God is doing and the chance to be part of this outpouring and movement of the Spirit of God that is spreading not only across America but around the world!

We are dedicating the next three months to a fundraising campaign. As we embark on this new chapter of life and ministry, we find ourselves very busy! We are astonished by what God has accomplished in the recent months and by what He has revealed to us about the future! We can already foresee the day when we'll require assistance, but for now, we need to secure our own support for living expenses and for the ministry!

We invite you to prayerfully consider providing financial support, either monthly or as a one-time contribution, to assist us as missionaries in training "Disciple-makers" who can reach the unreached populations of our world. Thank you in advance as we seek the Lord’s guidance during this time!

For those who watched the Charlie Kirk Memorial (along with the estimated 100,000,000 others from around the world), you may have seen the signs people carried. When I saw this sign in particular, it brought tears to my eyes. It was this very statement from Isaiah 6:8, that tore at my heart on numerous occasions while in Bible School in my late teens and early twenties that demanded a response.

What does this look in the practical?

The situation for Isaiah when God called him was perhaps a similar narrative to your own. He experienced God’s glory, His presence, and was stirred. In that place of surrender our hearts are open to what burdens His heart. When He speaks and asks for laborers, our yes will look like something.

It looks like continuing to seek to be living in the continual awareness of His presence.

It looks like simple obedience to whatever He says.

It looks like being a disciple who disciples, and that is what I want to briefly hone in on. It is wonderful to see the crowds and hear the testimonies, but how many remember (speaking to those who have been a Christian for a few years now), that being a Christian is not easy and requires grit!

Standing on the Word of God when all else is failing around you. Choosing to read the Word when the feelings for it are not present. Enduring and growing when life circumstances are anything but going your way and people are gossiping about you and misunderstanding your motives and intentions.

How often was it a friend or mentor who met with you—prayed with you—encouraged you—stood with you—that kept you going and helped you get to the next level in God that you needed to ascend to!

We have a whole new crop, of young people in particular, coming into the Kingdom and laborers, those burning ones for God, are needed to help bring in that harvest.

THAT MEANS WE NEED PEOPLE TO DISCIPLE.

In the course that we are currently running entitled “What is Church?” I define discipleship as taking what you have in God and imparting it to another. This often occurs over a meal or coffee and discipleship ALWAYS takes place in the context of relationships built on mutual trust.

So if you heart is alight with a “yes” and, “Here am I, Send Me,” then here is a simple and effective way to jump into the game! Become a discipler! Find those individuals in your church or area of influence, and take them out for coffee. Share your story. Share what God is speaking to you through His Word. Ask questions. Pray with them.

It is not as complicated as we often make it! Just go out! Make disciples. Fulfill the Great Commission!
